Client is world leading top 100 chemical company.

Project Leader:


Purpose and Summary of Position: (5-8 major activities):

· Responsible for leading application development projects of new products developed from Synthesis Group into new and existing markets.

o Characterize product performance and translate to new market/new product growth opportunities.

o Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.

o Work closely with commercial partner to develop implementation strategy.

o Effectively communicates upward to the leadership team

· Excellent communicator who listens and understands customer needs and translate that to new product ideas.

· Develops strong professional relationships with customers at all levels within the organization.

· Provide leadership for the technical customer interfaces and developments in specified markets and application areas.

· Provide internal laboratory leadership to identify and execute appropriate experiments to meet project expectations and timing.

· Identify and qualify 3rd party vendors. Plan and execute trials to meet project milestones on time.

· Identify opportunities to capture IP and implement experiments needed to support patent claims.

· Understand critical project issues, develop strategy to overcome and communicate upward to the leadership team.

· Assist with analytical interpretation of results.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



· Bachelors degree or higher –in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry

· 5 plus years of application experience and demonstrated ability to devlop new applications and markets.

o Knowledge of polymer extrusion, plastics, personal care, construction and adhesives, and/or food packaging desired.

· Innovative thinking is critical.

· Strong business acumen.

· Strong customer focus.

· Poise and charisma when working with customers.

· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

· Effective communicator of complex ideas.

· A seasoned professional with practical knowledge of a diverse rangeof polymers and functional additives.

· Knowledge of ananlytical techniques.

· Design of experiment experience

· Ability to travel
