Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering in a production/manufacturing environment; 8+ years desired.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Proven leadership ability and team skills
Strong Project Management skills
Pass background screen & alcohol/drug screen
Pass company required medical examinations & Fit for Duty exam
Skills and Qualifications:

Familiarity with Process Improvement tools, such as Cause & Effect, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PI Process Book, and Mini Tab
Experience in process mapping, value stream mapping, and process analysis
Microsoft Office Suite
Functional Responsibilities:

Include, but not limited to:

Discover new opportunities for Process Improvements in the Freeport Facility and North American organization
Effectively lead/co-lead/support Process Improvement Projects (e.g. Kaizen Events, business improvement efforts)
Work in cross-functional teams and partner with North American Leadership Team to plan and execute projects
Mentor and train others to help build organizational sustainability of process improvement knowledge and strategies
Identify best practices and apply them to other sites/regions
Independently develop solutions, using creativity, experience, and technical skills
Lead design of experiment trials to be conducted in the production units
Perform preliminary cost/benefit analysis
Work with production daily to determine optimum run conditions for each unit. Provide production support for cost savings ideas.
Provide Technical Support and troubleshoot issues within Maintenance, EHS, and Production
Support the site for VPP, ISO-9002, Responsible Care 14001
